Get your tot limbering up those chubby little legs as Dubai Creek Park is set to transform into a competitive celebration of childhood health and fun fitness on Friday 27 April.
Babies as young as nine months can sign up to this inaugural race, which will see kids competing in a range of different activities, including a 10m Baby Crawl race for bubs aged 9-12 months, a 400m Toddler Trot race for 3-4 year-olds, and runs of varying length split into different age categories: 5-6 years (800m), 7-8 years (1,000m), 9-10 years (1,200m) and 11-13 years (1,500m).
We note a conspicuous absence of a 1-2 year category, but realise that it's probably for rather self-explanatory reasons...
The day will start with a welcome reception from the Power Rangers from 7am as you enter the park (participating children enter the park free), followed by some warm-up exercises as the children are split into their respective age groups.

The runs will be staggered throughout the morning, going in age order from the youngest to the oldest categories. On finishing the race all participants will be presented with a medal for taking part, as well as drinks and snacks. Trophies will also be presented to the fastest six winners in each age group, three girls and three boys. All children will also get free entry to the host of fun kids' activities and entertainment following the races.
Organised by the Dubai Sports Council, the aim of this run is to be a day of family-friendly fun that teaches children of all ages about the benefits of sport and fitness and being active.
Babies are free to register but registration of children in the other race categories is Dh100, which includes a tshirt, bag, cap, juice, water, and free access to all the kiddie games and activities in the event area after the race.
